Delicious food at Darwin's best cafes & restaurants

Whether you want a big breakfast and hot coffee, or would prefer to spend your money on snacks and craft beer, you will love these suggestions!

To start your day, make sure you indulge in a big breakfast at a local Darwin cafe!

Cyclone Café

Located near the Botantic Gardens is the locally loved Cyclone Cafe. This cafe was constructed in 1994 from leftover materials of Cyclone Tracy, and has been serving up delicious coffee and food ever since! This is the perfect place to head before the blues fest, with their extensive breakfast menu with something for everyone.

Order the big breakfast if you’re hungry! It includes a pork sausage, premium bacon, poached eggs, sautéed mushroom, spiced chickpeas and grilled tomato with pane de casa. Don’t think you’re quite that hungry? Why don’t you try their delicious chick pea pot? This is a delicious chick pea curry served in a ceramic pot with baby spinach, poached eggs and a side of Italian bread.

Just outside of the Darwin CBD is the Souvlaki Grill and Chill, a delicious Greek takeaway restaurant! If you need a quick and easy lunch during your busy day, head to The Souvlaki Grill and Chill. Here you can pick yourself up a range of flavoursome food including kebabs, traditional Greek yiros and as well as other authentic meals. There are plenty of options to choose from!

Why don’t you try one of the open plates? This treat includes grilled lamb, chicken and pork, as well as chips and tzatiki for a delicious variety of flavours. If you’d prefer something that’s easy to takeaway, grab a yiros. There are plenty of flavours, including Hawaiian, Mexican and other spicy varieties. Head here for lunch on Saturday for a mouthwatering meal!

The Precinct Tavern is a popular pub on the waterfront in Darwin. Loved by locals and travellers alike, this tavern has an awesome Saturday night atmosphere if you’re looking for a fun place to have a drink and a bite to eat. There’s live music from 9:30pm or a bustling dance floor, and also a sports bar if you’d prefer a quiet place to unwind and watch a game after your big day.

Try one of their many bottled craft beers or a fresh beverage from the tap. Known as one of the best bars to grab some unique beers, The Precinct Tavern has a huge following. If you prefer spirits to beer, they also have talented bartenders and a huge number of premium spirits to mix you up something delicious!
