You've been training and the time has come
While the 2015 Gold Coast Bulletin Fun Run may be organised and managed well, unfortunately, they don’t feed you afterwards. We’ve gone to the trouble and found you four Gold Coast cafes that are nearby, so you won’t have to move your sore muscles very far in order to feast on a recovery meal.
Hidden away in the heart of residential Robina, make your way (however slow that may) to Mokacino’s. It doesn’t matter whether you need a great tasting cappuccino to re-energise you from your lactic acid induced slumber or you’re coming for some breakfast to refuel, you’re sure to be satisfied when you choose to sit down at Mokacino’s. Having just competed in the fun run we suggest ordering the big breakfast which has all your favourite wholesome brekky ingredients, plated with attention to detail and all for a reasonable price. Doesn’t sound like you? With an extremely versatile menu, there’s really a Mokacino’s meal for whatever your taste may be.
Where: 195 Ron Penhaligon Way Robina Gold Coast QLD
The award-winning Lake Cafe and Bar has been a favourite among both Varsity Lakes and Robina locals for many years. Located next to Bond University, this cafe is a great place to bring your fellow competitors to have a hearty breakfast feed or premium blended coffee after you cross the finish line. Perhaps you want to celebrate with a few drinks? This fully licenced venue will be happy to pour you a glass of Sauvignon Blanc while you sink into your chair and reflect on the day’s accomplishments. With picturesque views overlooking Lake Orr, there’s really no other place like the Lake Cafe and Bar.

If you’ve competed in one of the longer runs during the event, the last thing on your mind is travelling any further. Luckily for you, just 550 metres from the finish line at CBUS Super Stadium is Euphoria Espresso Cafe. This cosy little cafe produces some of the best cafe style feeds in the area, with a breakfast menu which is perfect for any palate. Want something nutritious to refuel all that lost energy? Enjoy a crispy bacon and egg roll which you’ll barely be able to fit into your mouth. Otherwise, there’s a range of sweet tooth selections, including banana pancakes, muffins and iced coffee frappes, for those who feel like they can afford to indulge after all their exercise.

Perhaps you’d prefer to have some lunch? Come to Squires Loft Robina where you can get a big juicy steak, which will fill your stomach as you get a good protein hit which is perfect for muscle recovery. The Squires Loft franchise is ever expanding and for good reason; they’ve developed a reputation as being a must visit location for steak lovers, so step inside and see for yourself. Situated in the Robina Town Centre promenade, Squires Loft Robina is home to contemporary, yet rustic surroundings which make it the perfect place to relax and unwind with a few drinks and a good meal after a big day of running.
