Get your clubs ready for a fun day
After a hard week of work, it’s time to relax and unwind with a scenic day of golf. Choose one of these Port Macquarie golf clubs and you won’t be disappointed.
Located close to the CBD, Emerald Downs Golf Course may be Port Macquarie’s newest course, but it’s fast becoming the most popular. Nestled among a residential estate, this 18 hole, par 70 course is great for golfers of all abilities. Carts are available, but with the perfect mix of par 3s, 4s and 5s, we suggest walking to get the most out of your Emerald Downs experience. If you’re having a good day, don’t get too cocky until you’re in the clubhouse, as the 18th is a par 3 water carry to the green, which is surrounded by bunkers. If you’re lucky enough you might even see one of the many koalas that call this course home – just try to keep the ball out of the trees for their sake.

Host of a NSW PGA pro-am event, Wauchope Country Club is highly touted as one of the best courses in the area. This par 71, 18 hole golf course is home to pristine-quality greens; so if you’re good with the putter, you’re going to have a field day. With competitions held on most days and social golf always popular, be sure to book in if you want to guarantee yourself a game. At Wauchope Country Club the fun doesn’t stop on the course. The bistro is open for lunch and dinner, so you can end your game with a beer and quality meal that will have you leaving happy regardless of how well you played.

While Kew Country Club is a half-hour drive south of the Port Macquarie CBD, it’ll be worth the trip once you’re standing on the first hole of this quality course. Nestled among beautiful native gardens, you’ll enjoy every minute of your round at this well maintained golfer’s paradise. The Kew Country Club’s course is easy enough to encourage beginners to have a go, but is still hard to enough to challenge the more proficient golfers. If you’re more into the social side of golf, you’ll be happy to hear that there are bar refreshments and bistro-style meals available in the clubhouse once you finish up. So you can sit there and brag about your day’s victory over a couple of cold ones to finish the day.
