Personalising Your Overnight Oats

Choosing A Liquid

Choosing the right liquid comes down to texture, consistency, taste and nutrition. The most popular choices are yoghurt and milk, however you can easily achieve similar results with almond, cashew, soy or skim milk. Adding yoghurt or chia seeds are a great way to make your oats thicker, as well as getting an additional nutritional boost.

Mix Ins & Toppings

Choosing the right toppings is the most important part of making overnight oats. You want to add more nutrition, while improving its flavour at the same time. From fresh fruit, nuts and granola to coconut, chia seeds and protein powder, there are no rules when it comes to adding extra flavours and ingredients. Just keep experimenting until you get the right taste and texture that suits you.

If you’re stuck for ideas, try starting out with these popular combinations:

  • Blueberries, pecans & honey
  • Banana, chia seeds & vanilla protein powder
  • Apples, cinnamon & maple syrup
  • Peanut butter, banana & granola
  • Raspberries, cacao powder, chia seeds & raw honey

Protein-filled overnight oats recipes make for great post-workout snacks. Or, you can experiment with sweeter selections for the perfect quick and easy dessert
