Rockhampton, are you ready to unwind?
BODY: Invigorating Coffee Body Scrub
Leave your skin silky smooth and smelling delicious with this simple coffee body scrub. You can apply this scrub to your hands, feet, body or even your lips.
What you need:
- 1-cup of ground coffee (unbrewed)
- 1-cup of melted coconut oil (see substitutes below)
- Half a cup of raw sugar
- Sealable jar
How to make:
Mix all ingredients in your jar until well combined. Mixture should be moist but with no excess liquid.
How to use:
For an intensive exfoliation, use a loofah or natural bristle bath brush. Rub a handful of the delicious scrub all over your body, focusing on any dry patches.
If you do not have any coconut oil, replace with vitamin E or olive oil.
HANDS: Cuticle Cream
Extend the look of your manicure by cleaning up your cuticles on a weekly basis. Apple cider vinegar is a natural antiseptic that will ensure you stay clear of any nasty infections around your nails.
You will need:
- Half a cup of apple cider vinegar
- A tablespoon of coconut oil (can be replaced with jojoba or olive oil)
- A few drops of your favourite essential oils
- A container
How to make:
Combine all the ingredients in the container. Easy as that!
How to use:
Rub a small amount onto each nail, focusing on the cuticle bed as often as you feel necessary. Push back cuticle if needed with a sanitised cuticle tool.
FACE: Homemade toner
Dry/Mature Skin Prone to Redness: Combine half-a-cup of warm green tea, tablespoon of rosewater and 1 to 2 drops of eucalyptus oil in a bottle. Apply to the face using a cotton ball.
Normal Skin: Place a cucumber in a juicer or puree and squeeze out the juice. Apply to face using your fingertips or cotton ball.
Oily/Acne-Prone Skin: Dilute witch hazel or apple cider vinegar with either water, rose water, milk or chamomile tea. Begin with a ratio of 1:5 and adjust to suit your needs.
FEET: Solution for cracked heels
- Soak your feet for 15 to 20 minutes in warm (not hot) water containing freshly squeezed lemons.
- Scrub your cracked heels with a pumice stone, loofah or the body scrub above.
- Apply coconut or vegetable oil all over your feet and pop on a pair of cotton socks. Wear for as long as possible, ideally overnight and repeat on a regular basis.
