Trying to save money on getting coffee out? We have you covered with how to make the perfect coffee at home!

Step 1: Choose good beans

First thing’s first, you need to choose the right bean. With so many different brands on the market, it can be a challenge to decide what batch to pick. If possible, we suggest popping into your local coffee roaster and grabbing a bag of freshly roasted beans, this way you’re ensured the highest quality and finest of taste!

Step 2: Grind your own

If you want to achieve the most premium-tasting coffee, be sure to invest in a grinder. By doing so, you’re able to grind your beans just before brewing to ensure maximum flavour. It’s also important to keep your beans fresh so make sure you store them in an air-tight container or jar.

Step 3: Get the right equipment

Would you do anything for the perfect cup of coffee? It may be worth purchasing one of the latest coffee machines. However, when it comes down to price, we suggest investing in a quality cafetiere; these appliances are loved in Europe, and when used correctly, deliver the ultimate brew!

Step 4: Be generous

Don’t skimp out on coffee if you’re hoping for the ultimate cuppa. We suggest using at least 2 rounded tablespoons of ground beans per mug to achieve the ultimate full-bodied flavour. Remember, every bean is different so if you’re trying a new blend you may want to increase or decrease the amount.

Step 5: Watch the heat

Pay close attention to the temperature of water so the beans don’t burn – 30 seconds after boiling should be enough time for it to slightly cool. If you’re using a cafetiere, pour a small amount of water in and wait for a grounds to fully absorb before continuing to add the rest!

Step 6: Give it time

If you’re using a cafetiere (also known as a plunger), time is your best friend. For the ultimate-tasting coffee, it’s recommended to wait around 4 minutes before pressing down the plunger, so keep your eye on the clock and be patient!

Step 7: Plunge and pour

Now for the bit you’ve been waiting for; the end result! Be sure to push down the plunger steadily so that no grounds pass through the filter. Pour into a warm cup and enjoy immediately!
