5 Date Ideas for Valentine’s Day on the Sunshine Coast

1. Start the day with coffee and the sunrise.

The Sunshine Coast pulls off some impressive sunrises. To start your Valentine’s Day off the right way, grab a tea, coffee or hot chocolate from one of the local Sunny Coast cafés and take a stroll along the beach.

After your walk, tuck into some pancakes, a big breakfast or other yummy day-starter, before hitting the road for your next romantic location.

2. Take a short drive to the Buderim Forest Park.

An approximate 18-minute drive from Maroochydore or 10-minutes drive from Mooloolaba is the Buderim Forest Park. The rainforest canopy will keep you nice and cool as you wander the tracks, before leading you to the stunning Buderim Falls, also known as Serenity Falls.

Be sure to pack a morning tea picnic as there are plenty of nice spots to stop, as well as picnic tables and barbecue facilities. There are also toilets and plenty of parking at the Lindsey Road and Quorn Close entries.

3. Check out a high tea parlour for lunch.

High tea isn’t just for Galentine’s Day! Who doesn’t love a good selection of finger sandwiches, little cakes, homemade scones and delicious tea to wash it all down with?

As this is Valentine’s Day on the Sunshine Coast we’re talking about, we highly recommend calling well in advance to check if you need to make a booking. Most high tea parlours will have booking facilities on their website, so you could also do this, instead of a call.

3. Unwind in the afternoon with a romantic gondola cruise.

Yes, there are gondolas on the Sunshine Coast, and are a sure way to send your Valentine’s Day romance levels skyrocketing to the moon! To surprise your loved one, book your trip ahead and don’t tell them anything. Insist they put on a blindfold and carefully guide them to the Sheraton Wharf, home of the Gondolas of Noosa.

Each cruise is on your own private gondola and will take you through the local waterways as the sun sets. To top it all off, you can dine while you cruise, while some romantic music serenades you in the background.

If you’re going to be proposing on Valentine’s Day, we highly recommend doing so on a gondola for an unforgettable experience.

5. Finish up with a romantic dinner at home for two.

Let’s be honest, after being out and about all day, you’re going to be tired. Light some candles, order in some food from your favourite restaurant and get cosy on the couch.

For that extra special touch, get in touch with your local florist and order a range of different rose petals to scatter around your living room. If your loved one has had to work on Valentine’s Day, this could be the ultimate way to surprise them, having them follow the trail of petals from door to dining room or lounge.

Valentine’s Day is only a week away, so be sure to order those flowers now! Find your local florist on localsearch.com.au.
