At the Mindil Markets, the world is on your plate!
The dry season is here, and most Darwin locals know what that means – the Mindil Markets are back again! Open every Thursday night (5-10pm) and Sunday night (4-9pm) from the last Thursday in April to the last Thursday in October, the Mindil Markets offers more than 200 stalls of fantastic food, fashion, jewellery, arts and crafts, and handmade knick-knacks.
While the markets are on, it’s a great time to sample some of the world’s best cuisine—from Thai and Sri Lankan cuisine through to Chinese, Malaysian, Greek and more. If you simply cannot get enough of your favourite Mindil Beach Market dish, here are some great places to fill the void during the week.
If you’re after some authentic Chinese and Singaporean cuisine, head down to Asian Pot on Knuckey Street. Here you will find all of your favourites, from light meals such as tom yum soups through to more substantial dishes including noodles, rice and stir-fries. The team is friendly and the food is so good, you’ll be coming back again and again! This is the perfect Darwin Chinese restaurant for a quick lunch, long dinner or just to get a snack and escape the heat.
