There are plenty of beautiful places to see in the Burnett region; from the gorgeous rainforest in the Bunya Mountains, to small country towns such as Blackbutt and Kingaroy. If you're exploring the region and need some delicious treats and homemade meals to fill up, there is a huge number of cafes to choose from. We've found 3 cafes in the Burnett region where you can get your daily caffeine fix or indulge in some sweet treats. Don't go past these local favourites for some of the best food in the region!

The Bunya Nut Cafe is in the small town of Blackbutt; if you’re heading to the Bunya Mountains National Park from the coast, this is the perfect stop on the way! Open every day from 6am, you can stop in here and delight in goodies such as homemade cakes, pies and tarts. This rustic cafe is the perfect place to relax and refuel on a long road trip, or to grab breakfast or lunch while you’re in the area.

Some of their delicious dishes include baked quiche served with salad and chips, as well as generous-sized pizzas and juicy burgers. If you’re just after a quick snack, feast your eyes on their freshly baked biscuits or slices, or freshly made sandwiches and wraps. Before you leave, order yourself a barista-made coffee – it’s some of the best in the area.

Located on popular Glendon Street you’ll find the welcoming Glendon Street Cafe. A short walk to a number of shops and local businesses, this is the perfect spot to head to if you’re out for a day of shopping or running errands. Here they serve up delicious homemade food and fresh, hot coffee, ideal for breakfast or lunch!

Feel like a big meal to start your day? Head to the Glendon Street Cafe and try one of their breakfast options that includes a healthy superfood cup or eggs Benedict. If you’re visiting for lunch, they have a huge range of hearty homemade meals including Mexican wedges or juicy hamburgers. The locals rave about the coffee here as well, so don’t go past a hot cup when you visit.

The Edelweiss Cafe (owned by the same people as the Edelweiss B&B), is another cafe located in the small town of Blackbutt. This cafe not only serves delicious coffee, tea and food, but also stocks a variety of local and handmade gifts – they can even create some flower arrangements for you. Stop in for a cup of tea and some fresh scones, and order a bouquet of flowers (if you order before 11am, they will be ready for you to pick up on your drive back the next day).

If you need a more substantial meal, they also make fresh quiches and sandwiches, or a delicious hearty lasagne. In winter, grab a hot soup to warm you up and a fresh cup of coffee, or visit in summer to try a range of fresh salads and meals. This is the perfect place to stop in for a delicious meal and to pick up a thoughtful gift for a friend or partner. This is a great little cafe with a friendly team in the heart of Blackbutt, so visit the next time you’re in the area!
