Road to Recovery Party
After facing one of its biggest challenges in recent years, Rockhampton is still fighting to recover from the destruction that was caused by Cyclone Marcia. The Road to Recovery Party has been organised by the Rockhampton Regional Council to thank the entire community and every single volunteer who have come together to help get Rocky back on track. Starting at 5pm, this free event is being held on Sir Raymond Huish Drive and is set to be a fun evening for all ages. If you want to grab a sit down meal with your family before you head over to join in on the fun, we’ve found the perfect restaurant nearby.
Pacino’s Italian Restaurant & Takeaway
With over 30 years’ experience under their belt, Pacino’s Restaurant continues to move from strength to strength. Battered by Cyclone Marcia, Pacino’s went through a rough few days during the aftermath of the destruction. However, the team have spent a lot of time cleaning up and making sure their restaurant is back up to scratch. So, celebrate the Rocky road to recovery by wrangling the kids and heading down to this family-owned restaurant. Enjoy a traditional Italian feast that will fill up those tiny stomachs that can sometimes seem bottomless.

Friday Night Laser Skirmish
As all things that go bump in the night start to get that little bit louder on this special Friday, gather the troops and head down to Laser Skirmish CQ for some target practice. Located in Heritage Village from 6:30pm, this night game of skirmish is just $35 per person and requires interested parties to jump online to book before heading in. Once you’ve got your tickets, put on your scariest outfit and get ready to take on some of Rocky’s creepiest townsfolk. Make it out in one piece and there’s a hearty meal and a cold drink waiting for you down the road.
Glenmore Hotel-Motel
Ideal for families, the Glenmore Hotel-Motel (or Glenmore Tavern as it is more widely known) comes complete with amazing meals, indoor and outdoor dining areas and even a play centre for the kids. If you’ve worked up a sweat battling those ghastly fiends, cool down with a nice cold brew as your kids keep the fun going in the play centre. Grab one of the various specials and eat your fill before heading over to the pokies and playing with the big kids.

Short Attention Span
This all ages event is filled with comedy, drama and everything in between, and will make you forget about the date and focus your attention on some theatre. Short Attention Span is presented by the Rockhampton Little Theatre and consists of 12 local plays all under 15 minutes! Inside the Walter Reid Cultural Centre, Short Attention Span tickets are $22 for adults and $10 for youth. A perfect night out with friends and family that could only be made better by a great feast on the river.
Saigon Saigon by the River
Located on the edge of Fitzroy River, Saigon Saigon by the River provides its guests with exotic food and stunning views. This family friendly restaurant specialises in Vietnamese and Chinese cuisines and is fully licensed. Enjoy your favourite beverage and dig into a variety of dishes with vegetarian options for those who prefer not to indulge in some succulent meat.
