  • No one is excluded from benefits, including babies, adults, children, elderly & pets

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a non-invasive healing treatment that aims to align the body’s energy, to increase the natural healing ability and overall wellbeing.

What to Expect During a Reiki Healing Treatment?

Before: A Reiki treatment can be performed either lying down on a massage table, or seated in a chair. It is advised you wear loose, comfortable clothing, with long hair tied back, as well as no strong fragrance or jewellery. You may need to fill out a form stating any illnesses or problems, and so you ensure the therapists conditions and ethics.
During: Your therapist will begin the treatment by slowing moving their hands over your body (above you body, not touching), otherwise known as a Byosen Scan. A skilled therapist will be able to sense which areas need healing and realignment.
They will then place their hands above, or lightly touch areas of your body called chakras, to allow the flow of energy to be transferred to your body. The energy will travel to the areas of your body it’s needed most.
After: You may leave a Reiki healing session feeling relaxed, tired or both, which is your body beginning the healing process. The therapist will suggest anything you may need to know, such as eating a light meal, and staying hydrated.

Dry Needling

Benefits:

  • May help relieve symptoms of poor posture, emotional trauma, & sports injuries
  • Provides possible relief from headaches, migraines & jaw pain
  • Arm pain such as tennis elbow, carpal tunnel, & shoulder injuries may be reduced

What is Dry Needling?

Similar to acupuncture, dry needling involves a filament needle, which is inserted directly into the skin and muscle, focused on a myofascial trigger point.

What to Expect During a Dry Needling Treatment?

Before: Avoid eating any large meals, and wear comfortable, easily removed clothing. Your therapist will ask you to fill out a form with any problems you may be experiencing, and what you hope to achieve. You may be asked to remove your clothing, down to your underwear, or to wear a clinic gown.
During: To begin treatment, a needle will be inserted into the problem area. You may feel a prick when the needle is inserted, but you should not feel it after it is in place. Once the needle hits the trigger point, expect to feel a twitch response. Depending on the severity of the problem, or the tightness of your muscle, you may feel some pain. Multiple trigger points will be addressed at each treatment you attend.
After: The treated areas after dry needling may be sore. Your therapist will provide you with any information about using stretches and heat to reduce any side effects.

Aromatherapy

Benefits:

  • May help reduce stress & fight depression
  • Has been shown to lower blood pressure
  • If used properly, may boost energy levels & the immune system

What is Aromatherapy?

Otherwise known as essential oil therapy, aromatic essences are used to restore balance in the body. Aromatherapy is often used during a massage, or emitted through a diffuser during meditation.

What to Expect During an Aromatherapy Massage?

Before: As you would for other types of massage, dress in loose, comfortable clothing. Remove all jewelry and ensure your hair is tied up. You’ll be asked to fill out a form stating any illnesses and problems. To assess which oils to use, the therapist will ask what you hope to achieve and if you are sensitive to strong, or certain scents.
During: When you are comfortably lying down, your therapist will combine the chosen oils with massage cream. They will then progress with a relaxing massage, using trigger points in the body to sooth any aches and pains. If you prefer more or less pressure, be sure to let your therapist know.
After: You may feel sore, and also feel relaxed. Ensure you drink plenty of water, and take it easy for the rest of the day. Your massage therapist will advise you of anything you need to consider.
