With so many things to do, picking an itinerary for your day trip can be a difficult task. Whether you’re after a romantic getaway, quality family time or a solo adventure, we’ve got the perfect day of activities for those wanting to make the most out of their Tweed Coast adventure.

See The Sunrise From Mount Warning’s summit

Where:
Mt Warning Road, Mount Warning, Tweed Coast Hinterland NSW

Mount Warning may be one of the toughest climbs in the Tweed Coast region, but every bit of energy mustered is worth it for the majestic views at the summit. Starting early will enable you to take in the breathtaking sunrise across the entire Tweed coastline. The 8.8km return trip is much easier in the cooler mornings. Just be sure to leave yourself 2.5 hours to reach the summit before sunrise. All you need to bring is some tough shoes and a headlamp, as well as a backpack filled with a bottle of water, snacks and maybe some insect repellent.

Picnic At Kirra Beach

Pat Fagan Park, Marine Parade, Tweed Coast NSW

One of the most famous beaches in Australia, Kirra Beach is a great place to wind down and enjoy a little picnic after your epic morning journey. Pick a spot on the sand or at a nearby park, then spend your afternoon enjoying the sea breeze and watching the waves roll in. Of course, a picnic requires food, but if preferred there are many shops and cafes within close walking distance.

Go Fishing In The Tweed River

Coral Street, Tweed Coast, NSW

It can’t be a perfect day on the Tweed Coast without a spot of fishing. For some of the best land-based fishing, head to the walls at the mouth of the Tweed River. All you need is a chair, fishing rod, some tackle and a positive attitude for an afternoon of fun and relaxation—regardless of whether the fish are biting. This fishing spot is a local favourite and known for producing good-sized bream, whiting, trevally, tailor, blackfish, jewfish, mackerel and kingfish.
