If you’d rather stay by a gently trickling creek than the ocean, then the Crystal Creek Rainforest Retreat is the perfect spot for you. This private accommodation nestled into the Tweed Valley is the perfect retreat for couples enjoying their honeymoon or anniversary. You can choose from five types of accommodation, but our pick is the creekside spa cabins overlooking the rainforest and nearby creek.
You will be able to hear the flowing water nearby as you enjoy your candlelit dinner or private spa bath. With floor to ceiling windows in both the bedroom and ensuite, this is a truly luxurious and tranquil setting by the water. This retreat has really thought of everything, so you can order a breakfast hamper, a picnic pack or a fully cooked dinner. Choose from amazing outdoor activities such as their rainforest walking track by the creeks, or take a stroll down to the orchard and snack on your freshly made sandwiches.

For truly unique and exceptional accommodation check into the Wollumbin Palms Retreat. Right next to the base of Mount Warning, this rainforest retreat has three lodges to choose from; water, air and earth, so no matter what kind of view or experience you want they will serve it up. The air and earth lodges are incredibly designed and each is unique, but naturally our favourite is the water lodge.
The water lodge is an Asian inspired lodge, overlooking a koi pond and lake for people wanting a tranquil waterside experience. The bed is suspended from the ceiling, and any of the walls are glass so you can look out over the forest whether you’re relaxing in the lounge or taking a bath. You will even be spoilt with a lit up waterfall to watch at night, and a platypus couple that play in the lake below. Make yourself a coffee and sit in the outdoor spa as you let your mind unwind. Before you check out of this retreat, make sure to indulge in a full body massage or hot stone therapy so that you can leave in ultimate relaxation.
